Lavon, Sharon, Nika and Cody Cantrell, Owners
Quilt Square: "Spring Sunshine"
Size: 4x8
Artist: Nika Cantrell

The unique quilt was done by Sharon just in time, several years ago just before her first born child, Nika, was born.
The Cantrell home was built in 1900 by the D.M. and Mollie Speck family. Mr. Speck was a wholesale lumber dealer, according to the U.S. Census. He was elected Mayor of Monterey and severed a two-year term (1922-1923).

David M. Speck, on Jan.7, 1924, his  last meeting as mayor, presented the town with a deed to a rock quarry that would be used to gravel the town’s roads. Nowlin & Robinson were give the contract to build the streets.
